Data transfer

Industrial safety

This is a complex hardware and software system that allows for visualization of the location of personnel and equipment with an accuracy of up to 15 meters, sending text and emergency alerts with delivery confirmation and conscious confirmation of receipt, enabling miners to send a distress signal to the surface, and transmitting online data from sensors (gas, temperature, etc.) built into the headlamp, with reference to coordinates.

Application areas
MinePASS data transmission technology is designed specifically for use in the following specific underground mining conditions:
• Constant curvature and elevation changes during horizontal signal propagation

• Ramp loops

• Signal propagation other than horizontal – through vertical shafts, passages, and ventilation pits.

• Technological processes – movement of ore and rock masses on conveyors, self-propelled vehicles, and mine cars

• Presence of ventilation locks and partitions

• Use of radio-reflective arch support
System architecture
  • The carrier frequency of 868–915 MHz was chosen for its ability to bend around obstacles and propagate in all directions, including around turns.

  • A mesh network of suspended wireless nodes is deployed in the mine.

  • System gateways are installed to collect data and transmit it over an Ethernet network.

  • The tags are integrated into lights, vehicles, gas analyzers, or other wearable devices.

  • All system elements communicate in real time.

Stability and reliability
The physical components of the system are designed to operate in harsh conditions:
  • High humidity, including constant groundwater flows;

  • Temperature fluctuations from -40°C to +60°C;

  • Lack of or unstable power supply;

  • Mechanical impacts, falls, contact with equipment;

  • Blasting conditions (drilling and blasting operations);

  • Operation by unskilled personnel.
MineTrack Technology
Data transfer
  • The method is based on a proprietary protocol developed by Alpha-Safety LLC.

  • The RFID tag calculates its position relative to available connection modules.

  • The data is automatically projected onto a flat map and displayed to the operator.
The MineTrack positioning system is designed for real-time monitoring of the movement of positioning marks.
